Corporate social responsibility
We believe that our success is guided by setting higher standards of corporate social responsibility and our adherence to them. We feel it is our duty to contribute to the well-being of global and local communities through our dedication to pro bono work, volunteering, free lectures, charity and environmental stewardship.
Over the years BUREN's initiatives among other include:
- On-going provision of pro bono legal services to War Child organization.
- Assisting Conservio, the enterprise that promotes sustainable travel in Africa.
- Active sponsorship of Dutch youth hockey teams and football clubs.
- Support of non-profit organisations such as Quiet, Stichting Oranjehotel, YOUth ACT, De Haagse Tuinbank.
- Our successful cooperation with social enterprise Sweepsmart, that develops zero-waste systems.
- Volunteering for Stichting SchuldHulpMaatje.
- Partnership with several business incubators, including Arches Capital, Antler and World StartUp (Resilient society).
BUREN is happy to promote the Netherlands and work together with governmental agencies supporting foreign investors. Our notaries, tax advisors and lawyers often team up with Innovation Quarter, Yes!Delft and The Hague Business Agency.
Sustainability
We encourage conscientious use of resources and become as carbon neutral as possible. To that end we, for example, encourage to use videoconferencing whenever possible to reduce travel emissions.
We have limited parking spaces for cars to encourage clients and employees to use the public transport or bicycle, all our offices have heaters and lights with (motion) sensors, we work paperless as much as possible and try to use as few plastic products as possible. BUREN has own electric charging points to encourage electric driving.
