Buren advises Lloyd's Register Group on the sale of its international rail business (active in the UK, continental Europe, the Middle East and Asia) to Ricardo plc. Lloyd's Register Group Limited is a technical and business services organisation and a maritime classification society with an annual turnover of approximately GBP 1 billion. Ricardo plc is a LSE-listed global engineering and environmental consultancy company, which has a strategic focus on the rail sector to build an expanded range of rail services, with an annual turnover of GBP 258 million.
Buren provides Lloyd’s Register Group with legal and notarial services and has assists Lloyd’s Register Group with the works council consultation procedure. The international character of this transaction and the fact that both at the level of the target and the seller a works council were involved, make this a noteworthy transaction.
