On Tuesday, March 19, the Utrecht District Court declared the bankruptcy of the Dutch components of Cool Cat Fashion B.V. and Cool Cat Nederland B.V. (“Cool Cat”). The foreign entities are not part of the bankruptcy. The bankruptcy was filed by Cool Cat yesterday, Monday, March 18.
Cool Cat has 80 stores in the Netherlands, 17 stores in Belgium, 6 in France and 2 in Luxembourg. Cool Cat has a webshop in all these countries and also in Germany. A total of 1.450 people work at Cool Cat, of which 1.180 are employed in the Netherlands.
The court has appointed mr. D.J. Bos (lawyer at CMS) as bankruptcy trustee. The bankruptcy trustee is investigating whether a restart or the fashion chain is possible.
This bankruptcy has major consequences for employees, suppliers, landlords, debtors, creditors and other stakeholders. It is important that you secure or appoint your rights in time. We are happy to assist you.
