In an interview in the magazine “Executive Finance”, Robrecht Timmermans commented on the fact that the option right of Stichting Ahold Continuïteit to subscribe for preference shares expires this year. This threatens Ahold Delhaize to lose a powerful weapon against hostile takeovers. But according to Robrecht Timmermans, we should not blindly stare at Ahold. 'A majority of Dutch companies can perfectly protect themselves with preference shares'.
