Rachel Chen, partner and lawyer at BUREN, specialises in corporate law, M&A and commercial contracting, with extensive experience advising Chinese and international companies operating in the Netherlands and across Europe.
Rachel supports clients on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, employment law, and GDPR compliance. She is particularly experienced in cross-border transactions and inbound investments involving Chinese companies, guiding clients through complex legal and notarial procedures in a pragmatic and solution-oriented manner.
Rachel has represented and advised major Chinese multinational companies—including those active in the energy, logistics, aviation, and technology sectors—on litigation, compliance, and corporate structuring in the Netherlands. Her dual qualification and deep understanding of both Dutch and Chinese legal systems allow her to bridge legal and cultural differences effectively.
Rachel holds an LL.B. in Dutch Civil Law from Tilburg University, an LL.M. in International Business Law from Utrecht University, and an LL.B. in Chinese Law from Anhui University. She is admitted to the Dutch Bar and a native speaker of Chinese, with full professional proficiency in English and Dutch.
