Friederike Henke appointed treasurer of the Deutscher Anwaltverein Niederlande

Friederike Henke, head of BURENs German Desk, was recently appointed treasurer of the Deutscher Anwaltverein Niederlande, the Dutch division of the German lawyers association. The DAV Niederlande is an association for German qualified lawyers (Rechtsanwälte) who have offices in The Netherlands.

The DAV Netherlands acts as a link between the Dutch and German legal profession. The association is therefore the ideal point of contact for lawyers who are looking for colleagues with expertise in Dutch or German law, for example, or to put clients in touch with experts, to obtain information on legal or regulatory issues – or simply to contribute to the cooperation between the two camps. As a board member, Friederike Henke has a great influence on the work of the DAV Netherlands and (especially on) the shaping of the exchange between the German-Dutch legal profession. Due to the close economic ties between the two neighbouring countries and the associated extent of potential legal questions in cross-border trade, Friederike Henke, in her role as a board member, is an important contact person for those looking for support. In order to promote cross-border exchange, the DAV Netherlands organizes advanced training seminars four times a year, which are accessible to both members and non-members.

The DAV Niederlande recently organised two interactive webinars: the first on the consequences of Brexit on international dispute resolution with Professor Giesela Rühl of Humboldt Universität in Berlin as speaker and the second about restructuring tools in the Netherlands and Germany. Both webinars were hosted by BUREN and attracted a great number of participants from The Netherlands and Germany.
