Newly signed treaty between The Netherlands and China prevents the double social taxation of expats

On 12 September 2016, The Netherlands and China have signed the social taxation treaty which is expected to take effect in 2017.

While previously Chinese expats in the Netherlands potentially faced double social taxation, the new treaty allows for Chinese expats in the Netherlands to forgo the payment of social taxes as long as they can prove they are already paying social taxes in China.

The text of the treaty remains unavailable so far.
