Buren advises Olam International, a leading agri-business company operating in 65 countries and listed in Singapore, on the acquisition of Archer Daniels Midland's global cocoa business.
As a result of the USD 1.3 billion transaction, Olam Cocoa is established as one of the world's top three cocoa processors. Its Cacoa business is one of the world's largest suppliers of sustainable cocoa and is a leader in long-term sustainable initiatives. As part of the transaction Olam has acquired 2 plants and approximately 2,000 employees in the Netherlands. As part of this transaction Buren has also advised Olam on the works council consultation procedure and tax structuring.
