The Hague, 1 January 2025 – BUREN is proud to announce the appointment of Friederike Henke, Jan Greijdanus, Ruud Brunninkhuis, Ulrich Koeze, and Kenji Okano-Heijmans as partners, effective 1 January 2025. Additionally, Laurens Prickartz has been promoted to counsel. These appointments further strengthen BUREN's team of experts.

The new partners and counsel bring a broad range of expertise, spanning (international) corporate law, real estate law, restructurings, and insolvency law. This diversity enables BUREN to better serve multinationals, mid-sized companies, and real estate clients.
New Partners and Counsel:
Friederike Henke (Lawyer and Rechtsanwältin) heads BURENs German Desk. She specialises in (international) corporate law, mergers & acquisitions, financing, reorganisations, and restructurings. Friederike advises multinationals and mid-sized companies in Dutch, English, and German in (international) transactions and in their day-to-day legal work.
Jan Greijdanus (Candidate Civil-Law Notary) specialises in (cross-border) (re)structuring, corporate governance, and the corporate law aspects of M&A transactions. Jan has specific expertise in real estate law, advising clients such as real estate holdings and funds at the intersection of corporate and real estate law.
Ruud Brunninkhuis (Lawyer) is an expert in (international) restructurings and insolvencies. He advises and litigates on (imminent) insolvencies, restructurings, Dutch scheme proceedings (WHOA), distressed transactions, financing and security rights, directors’ liability issues, and shareholder disputes. Ruud also specialises in corporate law and high-end debt collection and all means to this end, such as attachment of assets of the debtor. In addition, Ruud acts regularly as bankruptcy trustee. He is also available for appointments as a restructuring expert (herstructureringsdeskundige) and observer (observator) in Dutch Scheme proceedings.
Ulrich Koeze (Lawyer) focuses on real estate transactions, project development, and rental law. He advises domestic and international real estate parties on a range of rental issues, real estate financing, enforcement of security rights, and disputes related to real estate.
Kenji Okano-Heijmans (Lawyer) leads BUREN’s Japan Desk. Kenji coordinates legal services for Japanese clients in the European market. His practice focuses on commercial law, corporate law, and employment law.
Laurens Prickartz (Lawyer) specialises in insolvency and corporate law. His daily practice involves advising and litigating on various corporate matters, including directors’ liability issues, commercial contracts, and financing and security rights. Laurens regularly advises businesses in financial distress, focusing on corporate restructuring, distressed M&A, and Dutch scheme proceedings (WHOA). He is also available for appointments as a restructuring expert (herstructureringsdeskundige) and observer (observator) in WHOA proceedings.
