Over the past year, War Child has undergone a major reorganization, combining activities from several countries under the umbrella organization Stichting War Child Alliance.
Corporate social responsibility is an important goal for BUREN. As part of the community, BUREN considers it its duty to contribute to the well-being of that community through pro bono work, volunteering, education, charity, and environmental management. Based on this conviction, BUREN, as a business partner of War Child, has provided pro bono support for the reorganization and has been associated with War Child for six years.
War Child reorganization: War Child Alliance
The first two organizations to call themselves War Child were founded in the United Kingdom (1993) and the Netherlands (1995). They were later expanded to include organizations in Sweden, Germany, and the United States. Each country had its own programs and focus, but they worked closely together. This has helped millions of children over the past 30 years. These combined forces are now bundled in the War Child Alliance.
BUREN's activities
Various practice groups within BUREN advised War Child during the reorganization process. BUREN oversaw the establishment of the War Child Alliance Foundation and assisted War Child in the transfer of activities from the War Child Foundation to the War Child Alliance Foundation. In addition, successful consultations were held with the Tax and Customs Administration regarding ANBI status.
BUREN is also pleased to announce that it will remain associated with War Child as a business partner. War Child's mission is to take war out of a child's life, a goal that BUREN is happy to continue to support.
Furthermore, BUREN advised Warchild on differences under Dutch trade name law, thereby enabling Warchild to register outside the Netherlands in a uniform and legally compliant manner.
