BUREN is delighted to welcome Martijn van der Vliet and Jan Greijdanus to BUREN. Martijn van der Vliet will join BUREN as a partner as of 1 September 2021. With the accession of Van der Vliet, previously with Baker McKenzie, BUREN solidifies its Banking & Finance practice. On 1 August 2021, candidate civil-law notary Jan Greijdanus, who previously worked at Lexence, started as counsel in BUREN’s Corporate practice. Stefan van Wijk, from our own ranks has been appointed partner as of 1 September 2021. With the appointment of Stefan van Wijk, BUREN strengthens the leading position of its Restructuring & Insolvency practice.
Martijn van der Vliet brings over 13 years of experience in advising banks and financial institutions to our firm. Van der Vliet also advises borrowers on financing transactions and restructurings. Van der Vliet’s focus lies on real estate finance, acquisition finance and other aspects of banking law. Before joining BUREN, Van der Vliet worked at Baker McKenzie, Houthoff and NautaDutilh, to name but a few.
Jan Greijdanus specialises in (cross-border) (re)structuring, corporate governance and the corporate law aspects of M&A transactions. Greijdanus also has specific experience in real estate law and advises clients, such as real estate holding companies and funds, operating at the interface of corporate and real estate law. Prior to joining BUREN, Greijdanus worked at Lexence and Loyens & Loeff, among other firms.
Stefan van Wijk started at BUREN in 2007. After a brief spell at another firm in 2013, Van Wijk rejoined BUREN as a senior associate in 2015. Van Wijk advises, among other things, companies in (impending) financial difficulties and their directors and shareholders on liability risks in this regard. In addition, Van Wijk regularly acts as a court-appointed trustee in bankruptcy or liquidator of estates.
